UPPER LEVEL TESTINg (hb, c3, b, h/ha, a)* *Note a club check is needed and DC's signature, so plan ahead if you are planning on rating for HB or C3 this year. See below. Candidates who are planning to attend upper level testings should complete and forward their applications to Ginny DelConte by April 1st. Information on Upper Level Testing can be found on the www.ponyclub.org website, under the "Forms" tab, under "T". The "Testing Information 2008" is very informative, and should be reviewed by parents and candidates. It reviews eligibility requirements for candidates, test fees, policies regarding cancellations and refunds, and information on Re-Tests, as well as other items. The actual application for a rating is found under "Testing - Candidate Application HB and Up", and covers all ratings from HB, C3, B, H/HA, and A, including the specialty ratings. If a candidate plans to test for more than one rating (i.e. HB and C3), separate applications will be required. Each application "package" needs to include the application itself, with all candidate, parent, DC and RS signatures completed, and three choices of test locations. The second page of the application must also be completed with the candidate's self evaluation and the signed code of conduct. Also include an original medical release, and a separate club check for each application. H/HA candidates are required to include a copy (both sides) of the candidate's first aid certification card. The first aid certification must have been completed at the time of application. The Red Cross often offers first aid courses, as do some continuing education programs and community centers. NY/UC
is hosting an HB test on August 2nd, a C3 Traditional test on August
8th, and a C3 Dressage Specialty test on August 9th. The location for
these tests has not yet been set. Additional test dates and locations
can be found on the USPC website, under the "Opportunities and
Events" tab, under the last item in the drop down menu, "Testing
Schedule". This is the first year that the HB and C3 testing is Nationally Organized. All applications will be forwarded to the National Office, which will assign test dates and locations to candidates. I understand that the National Office will attempt to place candidates in their home region for testing if that has been requested, but I would encourage you to complete and send in applications asap, so that we can send the applications to the National Office ahead of deadlines. Our neighboring regions are not hosting any C3 tests, so there may be many candidates applying to attend the NY/UC tests. If
you have any questions, please feel free to email me privately at Thanks, |
